Hericium coralloides
This beautiful specimen of
Hericium coralloides was photographed at Fort Riley, Kansas by Wildlife Biologist Gibran Suleiman.
Formerly known as
Hericium ramosum, it can be found growing solitary
or in groups on decaying hardwood. It is an edible mushroom, but
its striking appearance makes it as much to be admired as consumed.
